Firewalk in aid of Lucky - 4/12/2015

13/11/2015

Picture
Hi everybody, please say hello to Lucky, an absolutely adorable 6 yr old who is looking for his Forever home.

Lucky has been very loved in a family environment but unfortunately his family can no longer look after him. Lucky is blind, and has been for approx 2 years now, but he has coped because he is such a smart cookie.

SDW are currently investigating the cause of his blindness to find out if anything can be done to help him. We have a very competent and helpful eye specialist on board but as you can imagine this does not come without considerable cost!

To help raise some funds we are stepping outside of the box and embarking on an evening of Firewalking! This event is due to take place on 4 December 2015 at Strathaven.

Please show us support in sponsoring us to help Lucky who has so much love to give.

Thank you xxx

If you are interested in taking part in the firewalk with us then get in touch by email enquiries@scottishdalmatianwelfare.com or send us a pm on our Facebook page.

Great news! Dally Rally 2015 has been confirmed to take place on 6 September.

This year we will again be hosting the rally at Muiravonside Country Park near Linlithgow.

We hope that lots of you will attend along with your spotty - or non-spotty - dogs to help make our event a success.

We are always pleased to receive donations, help on the day or fundraising ideas. Please get in touch if you think you can help.

Dally Rally also benefits the community

17/12/2014

With the recent cold snap doesn't this summer's Dally Rally seem a long time ago now?

It was a fantastic day and we could not have asked for better weather to accompany our event. Along with raising funds for Scottish Dalmatian Welfare it seems that our event also benefited the wider community by helping to support this year's venue - Muiravonside Country Park. A blog post by Simon Bowers, the Muiravonside country ranger, says that on the day of the Dally Rally the on-site Steading Cafe took a record amount of money for a Sunday. You can read Simon's blog post here in full.

So thanks again to everyone who supported us - and Muiravonside - on the day. Thanks also to Simon for his help in making the day a success.

In August we announced that Kelly Ann Gardiner would be running the Scottish Half Marathon to help raise funds for Scottish Dalmatian Welfare.

Running her first ever half marathon Kelly Ann managed to finish in a respectable time of 2h 21m 15s and raised over £300 to help support our work.

A big 'Well Done!' to Kelly Ann and a big 'Thank You' from everyone at Scottish Dalmatian Welfare.

Thinking of doing something to help Scottish Dalmatian Welfare? Would you like to make a donation to our charity? Find more information on ways you can help us, here.

Auction - Cassius

As part of this year's fundraising efforts we have been able to auction a number of items that were donated to us. One of the donations received was a fantastic porcelain, life-size, Dalmatian who we nicknamed 'Cassius'.

We are delighted to say that Cassius has settled in well and found his spot in his new home. Many thanks to Alex Barnes and family for "rehoming" our big boy.
