REHOMED - SMUDGE - 10 YEARS

22/5/2019

This is the very lovely Smudge. She is 10 years young and she is neutered. Due to a change in her family's circumstances, Smudge now needs to find a new home.
Smudge is quite nervous around strangers and will need to be carefully introduced to her new family and their friends. For this reason, she is not suitable to be rehomed with a family who have young children.
She is also nervous around other dogs and her new owners will have to put in some work to build up her confidence. We will provide full support and assistance with this.
She is a little overweight but this will be easily rectified when she is getting regular exercise.
During her assessment, we took Smudge for a walk and she quickly settled down with us and really enjoyed being outside. She walked well on a lead and did not pull too badly!!!
Our ideal home for Smudge would be quiet and with new owners who are looking to take regular leisurely walks a couple of times a day.
As an older lady, Smudge may need a bit of an MOT and Scottish Dalmatian Welfare will assist financially if she needs any veterinary treatment.
So, do you have the time and love to give Smudge a new home? If so, please give us a call on 07757 723207.

REHOMED - DEE - Two and a half years

21/1/2019

Dee is two and a half years old, she is neutered and up to date with her vaccinations.
She has now been in foster care for 3 months living with the very handsome Diego (a young, unneutered male Visla).
Under the  guidance of her calm, experienced foster carer, she is doing really well.
She is a very energetic dog who can comfortably walk 15 miles at a time! At the moment, she is being kept on a lead as she is in foster care, so once she can get off lead, she will benefit from some free running. But she is most definitely a Dalmatian that requires a lot of walking and a lot of regular company.
She is now becoming more relaxed in the house, especially after a long walk.
She and Diego are great friends and she is generally very good when meeting other dogs.
She and Diego can be fed treats around each other without any issue, and she has shown no food aggression towards her foster carer.
She is still very food motivated and will counter surf when she gets the chance. Her foster carer has been allowing her to be in the kitchen when food is being prepared and allowing her to be near when the family are eating. This is slowly helping to reduce her fascination with food. Further work in this area will be required.
She is also still keen to scavenge when out walking. As she is lead walked at the moment, this is not a major issue as anything that she picks up can be successfully removed from her mouth. However, once she is off lead, this could be problematic. Further training in the "leave" command should continue to help, but it is not clear if she will ever stop this behaviour.
Dee is now ready for her forever home.
She is in need of a calm, experienced owner who will continue to invest time in her development.
Her new owner(s) will preferably be at home quite a lot of the time ie not working full time.
She can live with another Male dog.
We would prefer a home without children under 12 as Dee needs someone with time to commit to her.
She is a strong willed young lady and will need a calm but assertive owner.

If you think that you have the time, a calm nature and lots of dog experience to invest in Dee, then please give us a call on 07757 723207 in the first instance.

Please note that if a Dog's name is prefixed with the word "REHOMED" then this means that they have already found their new home.

REHOMED - Deano - approx. 8 years

1/11/2018

This is Deano (rhymes with Beano!). He is approximately 8 years old. Due to changes in his family's circumstances, Deano finds himself looking for a new forever home. Deano is currently in foster care whilst he is being neutered and during this time he will also have a full health MOT and benefit from some basic training and socialisation with other dogs. So far, he has proved to be an affectionate and friendly dog who loves getting attention. As Deano has been rehomed before via Gumtree when he was 2 or 3 years old, it is absolutely crucial that his next move is the right one for him. If you think you have the experience, time, patience and love for him, then give us a call and we can discuss further.

REHOMED - ROCKY - 2 YEARS

22/8/2018

We will start with the obvious. Rocky is not a Dalmatian! But he is still a dog looking for a new home and so we would like to help him.
Rocky is currently in foster care, living with 2 Dalmatians, 2 adults and 2 grown up children, so the house is busy and noisy with lots of coming and going.
He is a loving and affectionate dog, who absolutely thrives in the company of other dogs and he loves playing with his ball. He also wants to please his owner and learn and all he asks as a reward is positive feedback and fuss. He has recently been allowed to run off lead and his recall is good and improving every day.
Initially, he could be spooked by crowded places, bikes and prams. However, by introducing him to these challenges in a calm and relaxed manner, he has quickly grown in confidence and is losing his nervousness.
He is also slowly being introduced to younger children and we have seen a great improvement in his confidence and demeanour in a short time. However, to ensure a successful adoption, we consider it best if Rocky could be rehomed into a family without children under 12 years. But he would love to have a dog companion instead.
Rocky is in the process of being neutered.

REHOMED - PRINCESS - 10 YEARS

11/6/2018

FULL ASSESSMENT PENDING

This is Princess and she is 10 years old. She is not spayed, however, we will take advice from our veterinary contacts to determine if spaying is still the best option for her and if it is, we will arrange for her to be spayed and cover the financial cost. As far as we are aware, she has no major health concerns.
Princess has not had a lot of life experience in her 10 years and she is currently quite shy and nervous. She is also showing aggression to other dogs, however, this is clearly due to her lack of socialisation and her nervousness.
Princess deserves to find happiness in her later years, and we are looking for a quiet, loving home with patient new owners who will build her trust and bring out the best in her

REHOMED - DAISY - 2 Years

11/6/2018

This is Daisy and she is two years old and spayed. She needs a new loving home due to a change in her family's circumstances. She is a typical, happy, bouncy dally and she is in good physical shape. She is great with people and is now enjoying the company of other dogs. As a young dog, she needs someone who has time to continue to train and develop her.

REHOMED DUCHESS - 4 YEARS

29/5/2018

This is Duchess and she is 4 years old. She is fine with people and other dogs and, as you can see from the photo below, she is good with cats.
She does have a couple of health conditions that need to be considered. She has a sensitive stomach and can only have one kind of food and she cannot get treats. She also suffers from incontinence but this is currently being managed with medication.
It may be difficult to rehome Duchess with another dog due to her food sensitivities.

REHOMED - POSY - 6 MONTHS

24/5/2018

Posy is 6 months old and is looking for a new home due to a change in her family circumstances. She currently lives in a busy household with 3 young children and another young dog. She has a great, friendly and playful nature, and like all 6 month old Dalmatians, she can be a little bit over enthusiastic, but in a nice way.
She already has some basic training and is used to being left in the house, along with her dog companion, when her owner goes to work. She will need a new owner that can commit to continue her training and we would prefer that she is in a household where at least one of her new owners is at home.
If you think that you have the time and patience to adopt Posy, then please give us a call.

REHOMED - PONGO - 6 YEARS

16/4/2018

Due to changes in his family's circumstances, Pongo's family no longer have the necessary time to devote to him. He is a very typical 6 year old Dalmatian, who needs a loving home, with regular exercise and some fun time. He does need some on going training. A more experienced owner with time to devote to him would be ideal. Although he has lived with young children, we would prefer a home with older children only. He has never lived with cats and his over enthusiastic nature could prove problematic with cats! A full assessment is still being undertaken.
