We will start with the obvious. Rocky is not a Dalmatian! But he is still a dog looking for a new home and so we would like to help him.
Rocky is currently in foster care, living with 2 Dalmatians, 2 adults and 2 grown up children, so the house is busy and noisy with lots of coming and going.
He is a loving and affectionate dog, who absolutely thrives in the company of other dogs and he loves playing with his ball. He also wants to please his owner and learn and all he asks as a reward is positive feedback and fuss. He has recently been allowed to run off lead and his recall is good and improving every day.
Initially, he could be spooked by crowded places, bikes and prams. However, by introducing him to these challenges in a calm and relaxed manner, he has quickly grown in confidence and is losing his nervousness.
He is also slowly being introduced to younger children and we have seen a great improvement in his confidence and demeanour in a short time. However, to ensure a successful adoption, we consider it best if Rocky could be rehomed into a family without children under 12 years. But he would love to have a dog companion instead.
Rocky is in the process of being neutered.
